Richie Bartlett, Jr.

“Nothing easy is greatly rewarding” is not only my motto, but the driving force behind every project I engage. I believe it’s critical to identify areas that we can automate so we can focus on the high value work. While the core of my background is highly technical on infrastructure engineering, I have built a few small startups where I saw a need that wasn't filled.

Entrepreneurship is a journey. Along the way, one finds the failures and hopefully lessons to build it better. I would qualify my experiences in this journey valuable. I believe everyone should attempt to start their own company so they can understand the challenges (and maybe enjoy triumps) that comes with building something society wants.

Projects

AXA Direct Japan: Cloud

Built a cloud team to manage the company's growing presence online in an effort to remain competitive and increase speed-to-market of business ideas.

The Cloud team at ADJ (AXA Direct Japan) is a critical team for maintaing the company's infrastructure backbone. As team leader, my vision of cloud management is what enabled us to go from $3,000,000 USD a year to less than $1.6 million! I built the Cloud team to capture and control the "wild-west" management the previous projects had implemented.

Boehringer Ingelheim: Telephony

Upgrading the pharmaceutical company's phone system

Migrated 1400+ Cisco UCM users to Skype Enterprise Voice with AudioCodes for six sites within Japan. Traveled onsite to install AudioCodes voice gateways & train users on system usage. Supported user issues with Skype for Business phones. Wrote PowerShell scripts to automate many server tasks and support functions. Provided VOIP support for other APAC countries such as Singapore and Australia.

Wells Fargo

Team lead and automation developer

Created an automated/scripted process that reduced server deployment times by 75%! This reduced deployment cost by $10,000 per month. Functioned as the lead Windows ICOD (Infrastructure Capacity on Demand) engineer over two team-mates. Responsible for over 100,000 servers in the nationwide enterprise environment.
